AX850XT incompatability question

I am trying to connect a PC with an ASUS AX850XT video card to a new Sony KDL-V32XBR1 LCD monitor using the PC Input (VGA cable) and the monitor is stating that the PC is generating an unsupported format even though everything appears to be configured properly. The monitor's manual states that it does not support either sync on green or composite sync. I've asked ASUS if this is what the video card utilizes, but have not received an answer to the question so far. So does anyone know if the AX850XT video card utilizes either of these for its sync and/or has anyone else tried this card/monitor combo with success with using the PC input?
