Greetings

I've picked up one of these to play with out of curiosity. Will get it delivered on Friday. Will see if the LG service remote control works on this unit.

Orion makes Insignia's CRT TVs, but LG makes most of their dvd players, recorders, portable DVDs, LCDs, and now, apparently, plasmas.

If LG Electronics make the Insignia TV's (specifically plasma TV's) exclusively for Best Buy, then why is Future Shop selling the same brand: Insignia ?

future shop and bestbuy = same company just different countries

and i would think 80% of plasmas out there will look better than the samsung next to it... i guess ill go check this out

i assume this thing has a 1024x768 reso?

Curious about your findings... I'm thinking of picking this up.

Edit: Found my answer in this thread (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=619918), but still curious if the LG remote codes worked?

Greetings

no ... did not work.

I was able to track the menu system down to Norcent TV ...

A LCD flat Norcent 27" uses the same menu layout ...

Was only able to calibrate the TV through the Lumagen scaler. So far.

The TV is amazingly good for image quality ... although you can't do grayscale right now with out codes.

The other aspects of the set need work though ... stupid remote ... bad menu design ...

Do you have the codes I just picked one of theses sets up I am very impressed with the picture but the grayscale seems a little off but over all the same things you mentioned are the way I feel but to me they are not that important.
