I was disturbed to see the front page news story on "New Tvs put consumers to the test" where it puts forth such claims as:

Plasmas will last as long as LCDs

And CRT pictures just aren't as sharp and aren't available in widescreen....

Who wrote this and how did it get on the front page of avsforum?

That sort of stuff puts a rather big hit on credibility.

I emailed him to see what he says. I always get a bitter taste when someone decides to enlighten the masses and then does it wrong.

I emailed him a couple days ago about the widescreen CRT comment with no response still.

A lot of his stuff in that story seemed questionable but I admittedly don't keep up with manufacturers claims all that much. I guess CRT is on the way out and people like that will only help push it out the door.
