Sony KV-34HS420 partial screen tint

Anyone else have a problem with the Sony KV-34HS420 when displaying a white screen have part of the screen tinted green or another color?

Originally I had the TV in my living room and never noticed any problems. Then I moved it to my bedroom and noticed that the upper right corner was tinting green. The tinting became more apparent after it was on for several hours. At first I thought that moving the TV caused the problem. Fortunately I have a stand that allows me to rotate the TV and I found that the problem would be greatly reduced if I rotated it so the end of the TV is not pointing at the wall. So it appears that the TV is very sensitive to power or some other object in the wall. Moving the TV to another place in the room is not an option.

Lately I've been buying a lot of Sony products with anoying problems such as this. I no longer am sure that paying a premium price for a Sony product is worth it. Has the quality of Sony products degraded over the past few years?

Have anything magnetic near the tv like an unshieded speaker?

This could be your problem..if not it's some type of interferrance maybe?

Nothing else around the TV except the wall.

Maybe there is electrical cable in your wall. It may work just like a coil, and if there is any electric current it will produces magnetic field. If degausing feature from your TV can resolved this problem, i think for the meanwhile you should consider to move your TV, if the TV is exposed to magnetic field for a long time the damaged would be very difficult to fix (and the color tint will persist).

Try give a space between your TV and the wall, about 2 to 5 inch.

Just wonder, if you put different TV on that location, does it have same problem ?

It seems pretty obvious you've got something going on behind the wall.

Get a moderately large piece of cardboard and wrap it in aluminum foil. Place it between the tv and the wall and see what happens. If the discoloration is corrected, then you know you have a sizeable cable behind the sheetrock, and you will need to move the tv at least a little bit.

I have a brother-in-law with a similar problem and he just left the cardboard & aluminum foil on the wall...
