Hello,

I have finally finished my Media Center PC and had some questions. I have the computer hooked up to my TV now. I turn it on and the Windows boot up screen comes up. But I have to move the mouse to the bottom left hand corner and the screen moves so I can see the start button.

Here are my components:

ATI X700 Pro hooked up

Toshiba 46H84 Rear projection TV

with monster component cables.

I know it has something to do with the resolution. I have looked at power stripe but I am unable to find a resolution that would work.

I think if I were ablt to choose a resolution smaller then 640*480 I would get everything on the screen but that kinda defeats the purposes.

Thanks
Phil

Assuming your Toshiba is a 1080i set, and 16:9 ratio, try 720x480 for the desktop, and 1776x1000 for video. Powerstrip will let you fine tunethose resolutions and switch automatically between them when programs load. If your set is a 4:3 set, do the math, I'm not sure what the first number would be (probably 640 x 480, but it's the 1000 one I don't know).

The small text is why you use 720x480 for the desktop. Unfortunately, that makes the text a little too big, but big is readable.

Theres also the compress 720p resolution. Comes built into the ATI Driver. Theres 720,1080i standard. And then theres the compressed version to deal with overscan.

The 720p might be better. I forgot the exact resolution though.

i set the resolution to 720x480 and the DVDs will not play back. The FBI Screen comes up but it comes up with an error message that the desktop resolution needs to be changed?

I just installed Power DVD 7.0 Platinum Edition. Should I try a different DVD Decoder?

Thanks
