I need a new receiver for my 20x15 family room, for movies, tv and music - the old one was okay but it's dying. Because I have a DLP with some significant video delay, I need the sound delay feature on my new receiver. Probably will get some Athena speakers to replace the Bose speakers I bought years ago (big mistake). So I'd appreciate any help.
I'm leaning toward the Denon 686. Why?
Denon seems to have a good reputation on these boards.
The 686 seems to have all the dd/dts formats, decent connections.
Autoconfiguration feature sounds cool.
The 686 has audio delay feature for under $400.
But...I'm surprised at how little information there is in this forum about this model. In fact, not much on the whole x86 series. Don't know if it's too new, or just hasn't been covered. So does anyone have any thoughts?
Also...surprised that almost every site has this listed at MSRP...any thoughts on where to buy it?
