View Full Version : Any processors announced with DD+/DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD?
I'm surious if anyone caught any news of receivers or processors that will have DD+,DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD? I know Monster announced one but at like $9,000. Anyone hear anything about this? J.H.
Nope.
We should see some DTS-HD products announced in the second half of this year, but I wouldn't expect to see any surround Dolby TrueHD products before CES in 2007.
bfdtv I heard the same thing. Thats why my plan to buy this cheap $499 model is a good idea. I have this model and get my moneys worth and then next year get a flagship HD-DVD player and get a new processor with processor with Dolby TrueHD. Its a good plan I think. I bought a Parasound 7100 processor a few months ago and now I'm glad I will get another year out of it. Thanks for the help. Is your information from a source or just a gut feeling? Thanks again J.H.

I have been thinking about this also. I have been looking at the ARCAM processor. It handles HDMI switching. My understanding that there is an HDMI 1.1 spec, 1.2 spec, and 1.3 spec. I think I read that somewhere.
Here is what Arcam responded with when I pinged them on the new formats and if they would support the new HDMI specs:
Hi Rick,
The AV9 basically uses a high performance electronic switch to switch the HDMI, so whatever is fed in is switched and fed out of the output.
So the answer is yes, we do expect the AV9 do be able to switch future HDMI formats.
I hope this helps.
