I fully understand how the CMS adjustments work and how to us them. My question is about the accuracy of the colored squares next to each slider. Are the colored squares accurate NTSC representations of what the colors in a SMPTE Color Bars test pattern should match up to?

Lets say the only adjustments I've made are to adjust Contrast and Brightness. Next I want to display a SMPTE Color bars test pattern then go to the CMS adjustments menu (before adjusting the basic Color and Tint controls). Next to each CMS slider is a colored square representing the color the slider changes. Now for example if the green bar in the test pattern doesn't exactly match the green square next to the slider would that mean that the tv is displaying the green in the test pattern wrong and I should adjust the green (CMS hue/CMS saturation/CMS value) slider/s to make the test patterns green bar match the green square in the CMS menu?

Are the SMPTE Color bars suppose to match up to the CMS menu's colored squares? Are the CMS colored squares acurate representations of the NTSC SMPTE color standard? Any verification of this? I hope I explained my question clearly. :)

I appreciated any info. :)
