Has anybody had success (or failure) with transmitting a Comcast DCT 3412 signal via HDMI through a Yamaha RX-V2600. I am very interested in purchasing that receiver, but am scared of the HDCP handshake not working. Any input as to people's success rate would be appreciated. Thanks!

No it will not work over HDMI, nor will any other manufacture's HDMI switching receiver. The 2600 is a good choice however, just hook up the Motorola via component until Motorola releases an updated firmware to address the issue.

Set up the cable box and Yamaha HDMI upconvert resolution to whatever your TV's native resolution is and set the 480 override to 480i on the cable box. Set the 2600 to upconvert and HDMI aspect to 16:9 if you prefer pillarbox over stretch. The scalar in the 2600 does a much better job than the one in the cable box. Do an A/B. You will see a very noticeable difference.

My motorola stb (no model # anywhere on it) does not seem to allow any adjustment in resolution. Furthermore, my tv's native resolution is 1080p, a resolution not listed in the 2600's list of resolutions. The only time that I get a good image is to go from stb(dvi) to the TV directly with a dvi/hdmi cable for video and to the 2600 with an optical cable for audio. The multiple posts about component to the 2600 and hdmi to the tv have lead to purple greenish hues which I cannot work around yet. Any idea what is wrong? Thanks

I have not had the color issue with component.

To access STB resolution via setup menu: Turn on, turn off, press menu, set to 1080i, 16X9, 480i for 4:3 override, turn off, turn on. Set Yammy to 1080i and other settings from previous post.

Thanks. Tried your suggestion, but the color remains off compared to the cable to tv via dvi/hdmi.
