Picked that up today and sure enough it works like a charm...I know a lot of people get hyped up by those handhelds w/ old sega games on them but nothing beats this...The wireless controllers are awesome....I love this thing lol..

A lot of older games are terrific fun. On my modded X-Box (and my PC) I can play all (and I do mean ALL) the NES, SNES, SMS, Genesis, and Turbo-Grafx 16 games and we enjoy it quite a bit.
Though the ad says "enjoy your old games without dragging out your system". Aren't you just replacing one system with another?

Be warned that the compatibility is spotty, and some games have graphical changes or sound changes.
Same NES-on-a-chip as the other NESclones.

I purchased their wireless SNES controllers and found them to be of good quality. They haven't had any issues thus far. I will definitely pick up one of those systems. I get so sick of trying to get the games to boot up in the old system. I'm sure everyone is familiar with that process........

Hope you folks don't want to play Castlevania III, any KOEI strategy games, etc

Stick with a neo-fami for half the price, and buy the wireless controllers if you want. The Generation NEX has the same nes-on-a-chip as the $10 clones.

I use to have a disc full of like 600 nes roms to play on my dreamcast it was great...
The compatibility does suck a bit but for the most part it plays the games I like and own...
They have a piece for sale on Ebay where you can fix your nes for like $3.95 I have thought about doing that.

Not into KOEI strategy games, so no issue, but Castlevania III is a bit of a bummer. Are you talking about the neo-fami from lik-sang?
Ummm...why not just do all your old console gaming on your PC?

For some people, gaming on their PC is less comfortable.

Because I don't want to. I have over 30+ systems hooked up (well, had hooked up until I moved into my new home) because there is something to be said about owning the real thing. Emulation is fine for some people, but as a true gaming enthusiast, I want to have the actual system, controller and experience. Why buy a Lamborghini when you can build a kit car?

I definitely was familiar with that. I picked up a $7 replacement pin connector for my old NES last year and now it plays like new! No more blowing and jiggling and flashing blue screens. :)

Yup. You can find them in mom n' pop video game stores, flea markets, ebay, etc. They have the same NES-on-a-chip in them (complete with the same flakey compatibility).
Ummm...why not just do all your old console gaming on your PC?
Because the real thing is better than emulation. And the scaling done by the PC from 320x240 to a high-res PC monitor is kinda icky, too.

I use a NES with a new pin connector myself (from the local mom n' pop store). I had an official toploader, but they don't have composite input, unless you do some modding. I like the look of the old boxy NES better anyway. More authentic. :D

Just a little rebuttal concerning PC emulation...
I use a transcoder to send my PC signal to my TV, and can play the games on the couch with wireless controllers...
And as for the scaling, I've got several of the consoles I emulate and it looks exactly the same, or if you so choose BETTER, with the hi-res and filters/anti aliasing.
As for using the original controllers, that can be done too with the appropriate adaptors, but is not a big deal to me.
No doubt the original console is, and always will be, "the real thing", but you most definitely can recreate, or surpass, the original experience on a PC if you try.

But what about blowing on the cartridges? Bet you can't do that with your fancy-shmancy emulator. HA! ;)

someone will do that when they figure out how to make emulators for the ds :D
Is this thing even legal? I heard about it but never expected bestbuy to start carrying it..

With the Revolution you will be able to do some sort of blowing thanks to the controller's unique design.

Gameboy Pokemon is probably one of the best games I ever played...It is the only rpg style game I could get into besides Final Fantasy 7...I love it.....
A DS emulator already exists.

Agreed.
If you can reduce your ego down to mere mortal status and get past the "Pokemon" name in the title, it is one of the most addicting, fun, and satisfying RPG games. This is one of the few where I actually wanted to go back and collect everything and attain maximum levels.

No Joke I received this game in 8th grade which made me like 13 years old and I am now 21 and still play the same blue cartridge...It never gets old (atleast to me)...I hate the whole "pokemon" idea in everything that came with it but the rpg game is probably one of the better games ever made...Pokemon aside.

I have an old Gradius cartridge for NES (actually, I bought 2 in case one died). It is the only thing I regret not being able to play with the new Gamecube I just bought. I know I can get Gradius 3 and 4 for PS2 (which I also own), but I am really attached to the original Gradius I remember. I still have my old Nintendo NES player, but I don't want to have to connect the whole NES player to my projector just for that one game.
What are my options? I am deeply attached to the old Gradius game from my teen years, but otherwise have a whole new collection of games. Have they re-issued it for Gamecube?
Thanks - Jeffrey

Options:
1. Just hook up the NES and play
2. Hook up something - PC, Dreamcast, modded xBox, etc. - that does emulation well.
3. If you really want to play through the gamecube, the only way I know is to use a gameboy player for the gamecube. You can then download NEW emulation software and Gradius rom onto a flashcard and play that way.
