Totally OT: CSI Skip

Did anyone notice a very strange skip in CSI: Miami tonight (Monday) at around 14:52? Looks like they cut out part of the scene but it look so amateurish! Alex (M.E.) is putting a key from a victim's mouth in a little manilla envelope and it looks like the video jumps about a second. What the hell?

Often such "amateurish" edits are done on purpose when Standards informs them that a particular scene is unacceptable and must be cut from the show. It's sorta their way of saying "the network forced us to cut this scene".

Makes sense. I'd really like to see what they made them cut out. CSI has some pretty gruesome stuff on it. I can't imagine how awful it must've been if they had to cut it.

Confirmed, there's a 4 or 5 frame jump cut at that point. Nothing significant. Guess standards and practices decided that inserting the key into an open envelope may have had sexual connotations, so it had to go.
