Here it is.

Looks like Sony is having problems with some TV's not turning on, or off... I know this is for LCD's and RPTV's... but I have this problem with my XBR960 sometimes. It never has a problem turning off, but sometimes it won't turn on. So, I unplug it and plug it back in, and it works fine...
I wonder if we will get a firmware update too...

Interesting. Now the question would become: HOW do you install a firmware update on something like the XBR960?

I would assume you would do it through the iLink.

MY 30xs955 has a service port on the back, do other models have these? I also have a similar problem, sometime when I hit power on the remote it degausses and the red lite flashes but it never turns on, If I hit power again it works perfectly.

My XBR has the service input in the back.
And yeah, my problem is just like EMG7895's. Too bad there isn't a fix for it... Freaks me out everytime.
