In about a week or 2 I'm gonna try and go for the Sony 30'' XS, but then I got to thiking about the XBR. What's the difference between the 960N and the 960? Also where else besides Amazon can I find the XS or the XBR for the cheapest yet most reliable site?

I'm desperately looking for these sets but I'm a noob on what the best places are to buy TV's online and all that. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I've lurked here for awhile and you all know what you're talking about, so can someone please help me.

If you want a 960, I would suggest best buy. I know my local best buy only had 5 960's left, so I decided to go with one. right now they are having a clearance sale of 1699(the site still lists it at 1899 but if u go to an actual store its lower). plus i signed up to get hdtv via comcast so they knocked another 100 off(whats the point of have an hdtv with no hdtv service). so 1599 is not a bad price, but i got better news. i just recieved one of their 10% of coupons(presidents day weekend sale) a day after i got the tv, so i plan to go back and have them knock off another 10%. plus it also helped that i had 2 $450 gift cards. so I got the 960 at a good price. you might not have any gift cards but you should still be able to get the 960 to at least 1599 or lower

Are the XS and XBR the same besides inputs and what not(picture quality wise). That's all I care about, I don't need all those extra inputs i just want a stellar picture.

If you have an Ultimate Electronics near you, they are selling the 30XS955 for $759.95 thru Saturday. Quantities are pretty limited though.

www.JR.com now has the KD30XS955 back in stock at $699.99 and with shipping it comes out to about $850. This is where I got mine and I was very happy with the entire transaction.

You ordered it online, how is JR's warranty and service? How do they compare to Crutchfield? How was the delivery process?

I did not buy an extended warranty yet. I'll do that towards the end of the Manufacturer's warranty. Sony's warranty is pretty good though, as is their customer service.

As for the shipping, it was fast but I had one mishap with the shipping company. They told me they would deliver between noon and five pm and they attempted delivery at 10 in the morning, so obviously, I had no one home to accept it. I called and worked it out with them and had it delivered the following day with a time frame of just 2 hours and everything was fine. Word of caution, this TV weighs a lot and the box it comes in is HUGE! You will need help carrying this thing up stairs.

Kind of funny, but when I was talking to the shipping company to reschedule the delivery, the rep told me I could always mark the piece of paper for them to leave it at my door. I flat out told her, "why would I have you leave a $1000 TV at my front door?" To which she replied, "that's a good question sir"...

Oh, JR's customer service was friendly and responsive. I had to call them once to get my order tracking number. Fortunately, I didn't have to use their return policy, so I'm not quite sure how to rate that.

Make sure you have 2 people to move it, Its not the huge weight of it but more the awkward size/shape combinedd with no good places to hold it and the imbalance.
