Hi,
I have 1 1/2 year old CT27HL14 Tau Model HDTV and all of sudden I see black screen, no sound and only blinking red light next to power button.

Anyone know what this means. Red light is blinking 8 times.

I called thier service center but they want to charge me more that what is the cost of TV so Opened up the TV but I do not see what to fix. My assumption is some type of protection system is turn on due to some cause. How can I reset this protection or what is the solution. I do not think TV is completely dead since red light is blinking and when I power on, it is trying to bring up the screen but it is not able to bring the VIEW on TV.

I have powered off and try to use diffenrent outlet to see if it works but not luck

PLEASE PLEASE HELP

Hello, take a look at reviews on Amazon.com.
Quite a few mentioned that the set died approximately
after one year. It was mentioned that the TV tube was having a
problem.
That's not necessarily your problem. If you take it to an authorized
service center, you should be able to get a diagnosis & estimate for a reasonable
co$t.

I also own this TV, but mine is ony 7 months old. I bought it when CC
dropped the price to $379 for a close out. It's Panasonics first
direct view HD set, and unfortunately it shows.

Good luck -
Dave

Finally I figured out a way to get around with this...

It apears that my Dish Network DVR is causing this issue. If I disconnect all devices and power off then start it again then it works. First time when this happened it worked after turning power off for couple of days. It seems that for some reason this TV activates protection and it will not turn off this protection until you power off and leave it for a while...

Still it is happening once a week..but I know the solution..So it works..I know it does not make sense..but hey as long as it works I don't care...

I work for panasonic..I was going to take it to my company repair place..but I found this solution so I am avoiding taking this 100 POUND TV to company repair shop
