Hi, guys. First post.
Alright, so I'm looking at a real CHEAP HDTV purchase. Now, I had the Toshiba 26HF84 for one day(don't ask) and it was pretty awesome. The geometry wasn't perfect, but the color reproduction was simply stunning. I never got to see true HD on it, just Gran Turismo 4 in 1080i which isn't really made for HD. So I will be buying an HD set again soon and the Tosh 26HFxx is around $360 refurbished along with the refurb'd Philips 8420 for $388 shipped.
Yes, the Philips does have a whole 4 widescreen inches on the Tosh but that doesn't matter so much to me. I'm more worried about picture quality. Geometry, bleeding, color repro....etc.
1. Which set would have a more accurate picture?
2. Which set has a higher resolution? If either...
3. I've heard the Philips has only one comp. input with audio shared with HDMI?
4. I've heard the Philips won't do HD thru the comp. input, only HDMI. Sounds strange. True?
Any other comments?
