Hey all,

I recently made the mistake of purchasing a 30" Toshiba Widescreen HDTV, which ended up having glowing problems in 1080i and a host of other crap I didn't want to deal with.

So in short im returning it, however as much as I would like to get the 30" Sony at London Drugs its a bit pricy 999.99 CAD.

Anyways, when I return it the salesmen mentioned that there will be a Samsung TXR2664WX available for 469.00 CAD which is a nice drop in price. It's not a slimfit (which I read the thread on here and am now avoiding). So my questions are (and im new here, but for my defense I searched every page of this forum for my answers first)....

1. Any comments on PQ for this set? Plannin to use it mainly for the Xbox 360 and watching DVDs.

2. Do people find 26" is too small? I sit maybe 8' away, although I have no problem moving closer.

3. Is the price a raw deal? I can't seem to find the 30" version anywhere, so I can't compare to that...

PS - I would link you to the specs but it wont let me for some reason, easy to find from samsung.ca

I have a Samsung CRT Tube, TXN Model, and It's not very good. The PQ in HD is just very average, I have a lot of gemetry problems, the picture size changed when the brightness does, and their customer support sucks. I don't know if they've changed anything for the model you're looking at but I'm never buying a Samsung CRT again.

I'd suggest a Panasonic TAU. They're cheaper than Sony and are equally as impressive looking.

Problem with Panasonic TV's is that they are extremely hard to find in my area. Ive rarely ever seen one for sale of any variety.
