View Full Version : Will there be any new Toshiba HDTVs?
Is Toshiba out of the CRT business? Just wondering if they will make any more hdtv crt sets. I've been looking at the Sony and following various Sony threads. I can see what Sony is up to on their website but haven' come across any news for Toshibas. Hoping to see if they have/will have a hdtv with integrated tuner in the sizes 32" or 34".

I suspect the new Toshiba 30HF66 is due out within a couple weeks, as Best Buy has just lowered the price of the 30HF85 tremendously (700 dollars).
I think the 30" WS are too small for our use. I'm currently looking at either a 32" 4:3 or a 34" 16:9.
Yes, the new Toshiba 30HF66s currently are in process for quality control inspection at the Orion World Electric (Thailand) Ltd. factory, and Orion will begin shipping them to North America Best Buy stores beginning in March with a suggested retail price of $799.99 (same price as the Sony KV-30HS420, unfortunately).
I'm just curious, how do you find out this stuff anyway, waltchan? If you don't want to tell me that is fine. $800? Darn, I thought someone somewhere said it would be $750 instead. Oh well. I'll pay $100 more to hopefully get good quality control and a product with the bugs worked out...hopefully. If not, I guess I should be ready for return #5!! X^D
I remember earlier someone (maybe you) said production began on Feb 2nd. So I guess it takes less than 3 weeks to make a TV. Hmm...quality control eh? Hopefully this time they will actually do their job. I don't think the 85's even went through a quality control at all.
I just know, that's all. It's all just speculation but extremely accurate and truthful. I have over five years of experience understanding the Toshiba-Orion connection. Just ask me any question regarding to Orion or Toshiba outsourcing, and I will be able to answer it.
All TVs that Orion makes go through the quality inspection control. But I would not say that the quality inspection control is too rigid.
What a dog and pony act we have going now. And more speculation. Mr Prickly setting up the softballs for Mr Alias, the Great Sleight of Hand artist, to knock them out of the park. I want to sign "both" of you to my new brainstorm--The Traveling Waltchan Magic Act and Experience. Walt can bestow his bountiless wisdom about the mysteries of the Orion/Toshiba connection on the ignorant masses. We could have Mr Prickly clean up and handle our baggage. I see great things ahead--time to take this dog and pony act up to the Big Time.

Isn't this statement a bit of a oxymoron?
Just wondering.

not for waltchan and Mr Prickly. Speculation = truth in waltchan's world.
