I plan on installing 2 old kicker comps that used to be in my car back in the day  They are 8ohm impedance speakers and can each handle 1000watts of power. I plan on installing them underneath the stairs in my HT room, I'm basically planning on using a sheet of plywood and a few tubes of liquid nails to turn the empty space underneath the stairs and behind the closet into an enclosure for the subs.
Basically I need to find an amp for them for about $300$ and I was wondering how they would sound under the stairs.
My other components right now are 3 polk monitor 40s(left,right,center) and a Yamaha RXV-1500 reciever.

I dont know about amps for home theatre but those speakers aren't handling no 1000 watts

The 1,000w rating is the max thermal rating. In a large sealed/IB alignment (what you are doing), the drivers will reach xmax well before they reach their thermal limit. What are the T/S parameters for these subs? Someone can model this if you can provide the parameters and an approximate size of your enclosure.

yet-and, given their heritage, that says a lot.

You just posted the features and the recommended car enclosure. Those are not the Theile/Small parameters. Find us the parameters that look like this (http://editweb.iglou.com/eminence/eminence/pages/params02/params.htm).
