Just finally pre-ordered the Toshiba HD A1 from crutchfield. It was a good deal with the current $50 off coupon, and free shipping. I added the two year replacement plan, which I consider a good investment to say the least as in year's time I plan on my Toshiba having techincal difficulty (not being able to play 1080p) thus needing replacement and since the A1 will long since be out of production, I should get the newest model. :)

Anyhoo, does anyone have a list of what HD DVD movies are coming out AT LAUNCH?

It would be really sucky to have no titles come out at launch... :(

Why don't you try looking at the threads? Here's a big one.

WB HD-DVD Titles Street on April 18th

We have not yet heard anything from Universal or Paramount as far as concrete release dates.

Title announcements at launch from Digital Bits:

We did want to jump in here quickly this evening, to let you all know that Warner Home Video has issued a press release with an update on their HD-DVD release plans. Warner now says that their first three HD-DVD titles will officially street on 4/18 (catalog-priced at SRP $28.99) and will include Million Dollar Baby, The Last Samurai and Joel Schumacher's The Phantom of the Opera. Extras will be basically the same as what was on the existing DVD versions. The studio will then follow with 17 additional titles in the weeks thereafter. These will include Batman Begins, Constantine, Training Day, The Matrix and some combination of those titles already tentatively announced at CES in January (which included Twister, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Lethal Weapon, Unforgiven, Goodfellas, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Swordfish, Syriana, Blazing Saddles, Dukes of Hazzard, Full Metal Jacket, Rumor Has It, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Charlie & Chocolate Factory, The Green Mile: Special Edition, Ocean's Twelve and Troy).
