Hi Folks,
I have a Samtron (Sam2750 I think) TV Hooked to a Digital cable box (not HD), and a Onkyo DVD-HD850 (component hook ups) and Onkyo HT-S770 all running power through a Monster Cable HTS3600 MK II.
I think my TV is dieing as the images seem to be getting darker as time goes by. The TV has been Calibrated with DVE and AVIA but continues to get dark.
However my main issue is last night I was watching a Sci-Fi Channel movie and anytime there was a torch lit scene all around the torches from the light red/orange glow areas out to the black like in castle or cave scenes I was getting heavy pixelation of 1/8 to almost 1/4 squares. Does this mean the movie was actually a HD signal and my Tv could not figure it out or some other problem?
Also looking to upgrade to a HD 16:9 TV that will work well with my new DVD player Leaning toward a Sony 50" or 60" 1080p LCoS but not sure if currently worth the money.
Any help will be welcome
