I keep getting the following message, although the downloading process is "progressing" as normal:
ERROR:unable to fetch details for DVR 192.168.0.101:80 -- connection timed out
NOTICE: UPNP :: DVArchive received new DVR broadcast for 192.168.0.101 but wasn't able to initialize/configure it-ignored.
Can someone help me figure this out?
Thanks,
WJ

Try reviewing in detail the networking troubleshooting sticky over at the forums at DVArchive.org.

I had numerous messages like this recently and referring to the networking FAQ and following the steps therein cleared me up quickly. FWIW, ping confirmed it was a network problem that turned out to be my router going bad. 2hrs of trying to solve it myself & 15mins after I read the FAQ.
Is 192.168.0.101 actually the IP of one of your ReplayTVs? If not, it is nothing to worry about. Sometimes other devices will confuse DVArchive into thinking it may be a ReplayTV, but DVA will report such an error when it tries to check to make sure it indeed is.

Boy, I really goofed things up now. I uninstalled/reinstalled DVArchive, thinking that might clear things up. NOT!
Now when I try to invoke DVA, it pulls up MS Word with pages of ascii or some other language that I don't read...but it will not start up DVA.
BTW, thanks for all the input!

DVArchive is a java program - no dll's et. al., so unistalling it and re-installing it does nothing. Somehow .jar files have now been associated with ms-word on your system rather than Java. Try right clicking DVArchive and choosing "Open With" and point it to the Sun Java executable, or, better option, install WinDVA from the link in j.m.'s signature (above).

rm -rf *.* , thanks for that suggestion, being the basic illiterate, I didn't understand. I did the "open with" and it worked! :D
BTW, could get j.m.'s sig to work.
