Hi,

This is my first post here. I've been looking through the forum and haven't found any threads that answered my question.

I currently have a RPTV....a 47" samsung, widescreen, 1080i. Bought it less than a year ago, but even being HD it doesn't look anywhere near as good as my lcd computer monitor.

Bottom line.....I'm selling my big projection and looking at either a 37 or 42 inch plasma. But I have a couple of questions.

1. I live in an apartment, I can put holes in the wall, but I can't relocate a power plug. What would the best way to wall mount be? I'm thinking run cables through the wall, to near the ground under tv, where I'll have a small stand for cable box, and 360. As far as power cable....maybe run down wall and try to find a small strip to cover it as good as possible.

2. Is what I've heard about the individual pixels in a plasma burning out really true? I'm sure it happens, but is it something I'm going to have to worry about in the near future, or is that something after years of use? Hard to find any stats. about this problem

3. From what I hear burn-in is pretty much a non-issue now, as long as you don't leave anything paused for an extremely long time...is that true? I seen in the burn-in sticky thread a lot of people talking about burn-in but none that actually said they had a tv ruined with permanent burn-in.

4. What brand is generally considered the best....from what I've read it's Panasonic

Sorry, I hope somebody takes the time to read this....I know it's way too long....but I can't afford to spend a couple thousand if it's not gonna work for me.
Thanks in advance to all that respond.

Put holes in the wall by mounting the plasma to the wall and catching studs.

This is a manufacturers disclaimer that you will almost never get a TV that has 100% of the pixels. One or two periodically disappear over time.

Get whatever brand works out best for your wallet. If you are on the low side, consider Maxent and purchase from Costco.
