Hello, I have an older, but still really nice, NEC Multisync 3PG Presentation monitor. This monitor does NTSC/NTSC-M/PAL really well (very bright, like TV) and RGB but in RGB mode it, of course, looks dim compared to TV, like any computer monitor. I would like to use this monitor as a cheap HDTV/Xbox/MAME monitor but it is just not bright enough in RGB mode. Is there any product, that can, for lack of better descriptors, overdrive and shape the video signal to match the brightness of NTSC signals. I know that NEC addressed this by adding a high contrast mode to thier later monitors but there has to be something out there that can do this task (even if it means a little signal degradation). Btw, I have tried all sorts of combinations of RGB drive and Bias settings, even with every setting at its optimal the picture is still dim. Again, to clarify, the CRT, although, from 1992 is still very bright in NTSC/PAL modes and in RGB mode it looks just as bright as any of my other, smaller, computer moniters, so I am pretty sure it is not a problem with the monitor. Any product suggestions or help with this would be greatly appreciated.
