I have my Gamecube on Input 1 and my Media Center on Input 7. I hate having the flip through all the inputs to switch between the two. Is there anyway to disable the inputs (perhaps via the service menu?) so that I only have to press the "Input Select" only once?

In the user menu there may be a setup option under which you can name your inputs. You can disable them also, except for the RF input.

In the user menu you can name and label channels, but not inputs.

There is an option for turning off the TV input, but not the other ones.

I would like an answer to this question as well. Sony seems to have a "to hell with you!" attitude when it comes to little inconvenieces like this. Especially when you offend them by not buying their most expensive set.

What's even more frustrating is that there probably is a service menu fix for this, but what are the odds that one of Sony's engineers or some super-knowlegeable technician will see this post and actually answer it?

I have the HS510 series which provides the ability to name inputs.

However, I reviewed the operators instruction manual for the HS420 (http://www.docs.sony.com/release/KV27HS420rev.pdf) and it certainly appears to have this capability. Page 59 discusses the setup section. Select video label and you can change the labels of unused inputs to skip.

Go to Menu, Setup, Label Video Inputs, and then set Video 2-6 to "Skip"
