I'm looking for it for a long time (one month and an half); since the date Sapphire announced its graphic card SAPPHIRE RADEON X1600 PRO PCI-E HDMI
Here in Italy all ditributors cancelled it from their pricelist
And overseas I cannot find it on sale. What could this mean? Is the card not going to be released anymore?
Can anyone tell me where to find it?

I can't find it at the moment, but I remembering reading an article about the HDMI graphics card shortage. They're being sold out in Asia. They're not even making it to the American or European markets at this point. You'll have to wait until they make some more.
They're being sold out in Asia.
Is this what you meant?

Yes, that's the one. And the additional good news is that several of these are going to be low-profile and the list prices seem to be under $200. :)

Yes, this is right. www.hwupgrade.it web site in Italy had a sample of both x1600 HDMI and X1300 HDMI, but nothing on the shelves in stores here. I was hoping at least in USA some were available, but you are confirming nothing there too.

Sapphire Announces Radeon X1600 Pro HDMI Availability
http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=3078
Looks like supplies should be arriving soon. Next week, in fact, with an expected street price of $155.
This may be a good mate for a 37d90u (HDMI 1.1 world). The 37d90u has two HDMI inputs and an internal QAM tuner, so I can sell off the LG HDTV tuner, connect the PC and still have one port left over for ??? my hybrid Blu-Ray/HD DVD player??. Run the optical out from the 37d90u to my receiver and I won't have to buy an HDMI switcher.

A bit OT, anyone have any word on AGP video boards with HDMI/HDCP?
Is ATI or nVidia going to build these?
The good news is that the cards are now available from both ZipZoomFly (http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=326845) and Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102032).
:D Newegg even has some nice pics (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.asp?Image=14%2D102%2D032%2D02%2Ejpg%2C14%2D102%2D032%2D03%2Ejpg%2C14%2D102%2D032%2D04%2Ejpg%2C14%2D102%2D032%2D05%2Ejpg%2C14%2D102%2D032%2D06%2Ejpg&CurImage=14%2D102%2D032%2D02%2Ejpg&Description=SAPPHIRE+88%2D2C98%2D10%2DSA+Radeon+X1600PRO+256MB+GDDR3+PCI+Express+x16+Low+Profile+Video+Card+%2D+Retail). :D

I doubt that you will every see an AGP version of these. I recently built a new MediaPC and wish I would have gotten PCIexpress motherboard. I went with AGP because I already had a very good AGP video board. The lesson learned, never buy outdated technology. I now struck with the AGP board. So in a year, I will upgrade the Media PC with new MB, CPU, and video board.
I shouldn't complain too much because the new MediaPC is a big upgrade to what I had. DVD, SDTV cable and HDTV QAM all works great. I think I will replace the fan on the video board. The upconverson on standard TV and DVD are fantistic. And being able to time shift and use it as a DVR really makes it great.

Does anyone know if this card can output VGA and HDMI at the same time?
Thanks!

From the website:
Native PCI Express x16 bus interface
* AGP 8x configurations also supported with AGP-PCI-E external bridge chip
Whether they actually manufacturer it or not is up in the air.
I'd suggest sending them an e-mail or calling sales to ask.

The card does have dual RAM-DACs.
Yes in other words. ;)
Mr Zoid
Does anyone actually have this card? The key question I am sure we are all asking (and we now need to get answered) is can this card output a CE compatible signal via the HDMI port that will be recognized as a valid source by a display expecting a video source input via the HDMI port? There are a number of new TV's (the beautiful Samsung 4095D 40 inch LCD panel, for instance) that do not accept a PC input via the HDMI port. This is presumably because the DVI to HDMI conversion cables we use do not pass a real CE-approved video signal.
This is the primary reason there is interest in this card. If the output of the HDMI port is seen by TVs like this as a real video source, then an HTPC can function as a blue-ray player in terms of being able to send a 1080P signal to the TV. All that will remain to be needed is a blue-ray or HD-DVD drive for your computer and you will be set.
For anyone who owns this card, can you comment on the HDMI connectivity? Does it output PC or CE-video black levels?

I'd like to know, too. How loud is the card? Does it work well at 1080p with a Sharp 37d90u?

Definately interested to know more about the HDMI characteristics of this card. Ideally I would like to use this card's HDMI out into my IN76 projector.
