Question about connecting my Receiver...

I have a Yamaha HTR-5560 receiver. It has component/composite/S-Video jacks as well as Optical Audio. I just got a new Samsung HD TV and the HD10-250 TIVO box.

My question is....the TV has an HDMI jack, as well as the TIVO box - but not my receiver. Is my best bet to connect the HDMI directly between the TV and Tivo box and then run the optical audio to the receiver? This way I still have to change the source on the tv to HDMI and then change the receiver to the right source to get the audio. Does this seem right?? Thanks in advance

That is correct. For video, use HDMI from Tivo to TV. For audio. use optical from Tivo to receiver.

Thanks. So to take it one step further, for my over the air channels, I run another optical directly from the tv to the receiver as well...correct?

Yes.
