View Full Version : Hooking up both a Monitor and HDTV
How do I go about hooking my HTPC up to both my normal flat screen monitor and my HDTV? I would like to use DVI for both. Should I swap out the Fusion for the MyHD with the daughter DVI card, or just add another video card?
Current Setup:
Dell Dimension 9100
NVIDIA GeForce 6800
Fusion HDTV5 Gold TV Tuner
Thanks for the help.

I assume your 6800 has only one DVI and one VGA.
If you don't already have the MyHD w/ the DVI card, then you might be able to find another video card with 2 DVI outs cheaper.

I'm not clear on if you want both displays to be identical; if yes, then you do not want the MyHD card. With the DVI daughtercard, it can pass the signal through from the DVI output of you video card or it can put out a separte DVI signal of its own but it would not display your windows desktop. It only play HD content, either from its own built-in tuner or from recorded files on your hard drive.
It sounds to me like your best bet would be a different video card.
