Coming Soon: Data + Multistream HDTV Over Shabby Coax Networks
You know that rat's nest of coax cable running throughout your house over a network of cheap splitters? Soon you may be able to deliver both IP data and multiple streams of HDTV over that mess, without having to rewire.

A testing agency has verified that PulseLink's CWave UWB (ultra-wideband) over coax solution can indeed deliver high-bandwidth multistreaming capabilities over the lowly coax cable, to the tune of 400 Mbps, spanning "hundreds of feet of in-home coaxial cable, including multiple consumer grade signal splitters. "
PulseLink maintains that such performance is unprecedented, even by the Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) and manufacturer Coaxsys, which offer 100-Mbps solutions. The company is working closely with the High-Definition Audio-Video Network Alliance (HANA) to implement 1394 over the coax network for delivering guaranteed quality of service (QoS) and content protection. HANA is a group of technology providers, CE manufacturers and content providers that promotes the use of 1394 for secure, high-performance A/V distribution within the home.
