I just need some recomendations on a good 42" plasma HDTV for 2000 bucks or less. I will be mostly using this tv for game playing, dvd watching and cable viewing. I was leaning toward the polaroid 42 that walmart carries lol, it actually looked better then the other sets walmart had set next to it. BUt i dont want buyers remorse, so i figured i would ask for a few opinions before making this purchase to explore my options. Thank you!

Im trying to make a decisiom between the new Phillips 42PF9630A/37 Plasma or the Maxent plasma. Have you guys seen either of these side by side? IMgoing to buy online tomorrow.

Watch out for the Maxent! Horrible tv! The colors look off and would make you want to die!
Truthfully, don't go cheap! If you only want to spend under 2,000 then go for EDTV ... something like a Samsung or Panasonic!
If you want to get a GOOD 42'' Plasma... get the Samsung HPS series (4273 I believe). It will be just over 2000 ... so check that out MSRP is 2500 (i dont know if i can post that, just trying to help)... but you can get it on a deal for a good price! probably find it online pretty good. Alot of retailers (all of them) have no interest financing, consider that to pay the difference and put the 2,000 down... dont go cheap... from all my experience in retails sales of these things... thats the best advice I could ever give you!
Shoot me a PM or email if you want to talk further... I can go over some exacts and help you make a decision!
samsung 4233 and 4253 are very good too and cheaper

smasung 4253 can definitely be had for far less than your limit, and if you shop correctly so can the samsung 4273 (with anti-glare screen)

I think this guy already bought his set -- he started the thread in JULY !!!
If not, I hope he looked at the Philips 9631 instead of the 9630, since it was the latest model.
And when he WAS looking, 42" and $2K were tough to get for any but the cheapest sets.
