Hi,

I have a Fujitsu PDS5002US 50" plasma. Something went south recently and so far I haven't been able to determine exactly what it is... The panel lights up but basically just displays a flickering rainbow of various colors all across the screen. The status LED does not indicate a problem and the problem exists regardless of which input is used. If you look closely, you can actually make out the image that should be displayed beneath all of the flickering colors. The OSD menu is present but nearly impossible to navigate. I've probed all over the boards and verified that voltages are correct wherever they are silk screened onto the PCBs. There is nothing obviously damaged and I've tried connecting an RS-232 straight-though cable from a laptop to the monitor to run diagnostics but it does not respond. Based on a trouble shooting guide that I found on google this would indicate that the "Main Digital PCB assembly" is bad, but seeing as that runs for well over $1000 I'd like to have some more confidence before simply swapping it out. So, my questions are:
(1) Can anyone suggest a further diagnostic that might help to pinpoint the source of the problem?
(2) Which board is the "Main Digital PCB"? I suspect that it's the smaller board that has the RS-232 port, etc. on it, but there is also a larger board that has an Altera FPGA & two other ASICs on it that is connected via ribbon cable to the smaller board.
(3) Does anyone know of a source for refurb or used parts?

Thanks!
