I am new to the forums and the A/V world. I recently purchased the LG 23LX1RV. It wasn't my first choice but I got a deal I couldn't pass up. Anyway, I am trying to get the picture where I want it and am having trouble. Hopefully some of the experts can help me with my issues.
My first problem is my XBOX 360 only seems to work on 480i. I have the xbox set on 720p (I read this was optimal). When I switch to component 2 the TV displays "Component 2 / 480i " . Is there a way I can sync the two so that I can play in 720p or 1080i? I have had trouble trying to sync the two.
I would also like to use the "expert mode" I have read about that LG has on all their LCDs. I have tried holding menu down but nothing happens. Does my TV have epert mode? How can I gain access?
Lastly, my TV did not have the remote when I purchased it but one of the BB sales guys gave me a similar LG remote. I can't find the codes anywhere and the only thing the remote will do is work some of the TV features and very few of the DVD features. I can't even navigate a DVD menu. What codes do I need to program? I would also like to control my DishNetwork 322 with the same remote. Is it possible? Both have TV guide logos all over them, I figured they might be able to work together. The remote's model number is: 6710V00151Z.
