You keep pressing the EXIT button on your remote with the expectation that the mini-ad popup will then go away.

since its already been hijacked... my bmw has steering wheel volume and radio station controls. one time a friend was in the car next to me and he was talking really loud. since i was concentrating on driving, i didn't realize it for a few moments but i was subconsciously pressing the volume down button repeatedly, trying to turn down my friend's volume. it wasn't until my brain started wondering why it wasn't working that I realized what i was doing. :)

...You keep visiting the ReplayTV forum even though ReplayTV is in effect a dead product.

Yeah, I've tried to pause life before and movies in the movie theatre.
You shout at the crappy High Def DVR from the cable company

XM Sat Radio has products that allow you to "instant replay" back to the beginning of the segment.
Fact: I am pissed when I use a DVD player now, because I can't easily go back 7 seconds or so, or skip ahead 30 seconds or so. And I can't hit some numbers and jump forward and backward that many minutes. FF and REW buttons suck.

Mine does - RCA DRC8040N. Ten-second skip back, thirty second skip ahead. Unfortunately it's not a DVD-RAM recorder, so you can't watch the beginning of a recording while the end is still recording, but for a low-priced DVD recorder it works well.
And to add to the thread - you know you're a ReplayTV addict when you risk your marriage and wife's job over getting a $%&*! POTS line to allow your Showstoppers to dial out for the channel guide! (Long story, starts in an earlier post)

you are a replay tv addict when you go to someone elses house/hotel/etc without a replay tv and try to pause TV when you need to go to the bathroom.

Its really bad when your kids are addicted to your replaytv. My kids 6 and 3 don’t under stand the concept of watching live TV and not being able to pause a TV show or rewind the cool parts. They go to their grandparents and can’t understand why their shows are not on (I have at least 3 hours of all their shows stored on my replay units) when they want to watch them and why Papa can’t pause Disney Channel while the go out and play. My kids will grow up not knowing what its like not having a DVR

...when you ask someone "Hey, did you see 'The 4400' last night?" and they respond "Last night? It was on Sunday." "....Oh. Uh... Yeah."
Or even worse, "That was last week's episode!"
...when someone asks you what channel the 4400 was on and you say, "well the 4400 channel"...

Having wife think you are the biggest idiot for spending a grand on a replay and she watches it now more than you.
