View Full Version : Best Direct View Under $1000?

The question is simple: What's the best Direct View HDTV on the market for under $1000 (Under $700 is really perferred)? The set will be primarily used for gaming (Wii, Xbox 360) and DVDs (Possibly HD-DVDs in the near future). My room's pretty small, so keep that in mind. Now I know I'll be sacrificing either picture quality or size for the price, but that's more than likely how big my budget will be.

(Note: I've posted a topic much like this one in a few forums, for different types of TVs, to get a better range of answers.)

Check out Samsung TX-S3082WH. It's $800 retail and $650 on Pricegrabber.

If space, cost and quality are your main priorities, I'd recommend the LG 30FS4D. It is a 30" superslim design with very good picture quality, and it's in you price range. See:
