The Dish Network HD PVR (TD622) is a a dual tuner receiver with the second tuner for standard video transmission. The second tuner is intended to support a TV in a different room from the HDTV and thus has a UHF remote control system. The IR remote drives the HD tuner. Obviously I would like to use the second tuner to support a ReplayTV 5160 in tandem with the HD receiver (I have a 5160 in another room and would like to maximize my recording and streaming options. If that weren't enough, the 2nd tuner seems to shut itself off periodically.
Dish Network will not allow me to have another receiver, they limit each customer to 4 tuners.
Is anyone else dealing with this? I still would like to squeeze more years out of my units insofar as most programming is in standard format.
If all else fails, does anyone know how to go about getting a receiver that Dish Network will allow me to use for their service?
