Which Oppo for XBR1 SXRD's?

Just looking as to the forums opinion on the merits of the 970HD and the 971H. I'm looking for the best upconverted picture, since I won't be moving to next-gen DVD for a while. I don't have a seperate video processor.

I also would like an explanation of macroblocking. I have the 50" KDS-R50XBR1 and am sitting about eight feet away. The macroblocking issue is what's keeping me on the sideline about the 971H.

Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

Not sure if this will help, but I've got an 60A2000. No problem whatsover with my 970. I went with the 970 for the SACD playback, but from what I understand there hasn't been an issue with macroblocking in the XBR1 or A2000's.

This is a great set and I have a sony 900es,denon2900,and purchaced Denon3930CI. This is the best close to HD picture i have seen to date.They also make two other CI players as other options. hope this helps your future purchace ;) .
