Can anyone recommend a good switch that will allow me to plug in multiple connections (i.e. a couple HDMI, a component, S-video, etc.) and that will output one HDMI cable to the TV?

Couple questions on this. Do any of these switches allow me to hook up VGA also and output that to HDMI? The 360 sends 1080p via VGA, will these switches pass the 1080p through the HDMI then? Just want to make sure it passes everything correctly. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I did some looking and didn't find anything for 1080 or that didn't cost a fortune. You may want to look more into the need for it with the xbox. Afaik, the 1080p over vga from the xbox is a marketing thing that has little if any real use. It'd just be sending scaled up stuff but an hdtv can do that scaling so what's the point? Others will also tell you that with film at 24 fps, 1080i is all that's needed since it's essentially 1080p 30 hz. And it's very unlikely there'll be any games at 1080p in the foreseeable future. Very few people have hdtv's, even fewer have 1080 ones, and fewer of those have 1080p vga. Who's going to waste effort for such a minuscule consumer base? Eventually xbox will have to have a digital 1080p output -- dvi or hdmi.

I wish Microsoft would just release an HDMI cable and be done with it, they keep skirting around this issue, I hate it.

I thought I heard that some games are being released soon, or are in development that will be 1080p.

Thanks for the insight, I figured I was asking to much for a switching device when I couldn't find one in a search. :(

Most video scalers do what you're describing...DVDO is known as a good place to start.

Those are what you insert into your TV correct?

No, I'm talking about an outboard, standalone scaler, like this:

Denon and Yamaha make them :) Try the Denon AVR-2807 and Yamaha RX-V1799
