Firewire STB for a dummy

Ok, before everyone says, there's a thread for it, I will say, that is a long thread and I've tried to read it all. I managed to hook up the firewire from the STB(Motorola DCT 6200). Have it detected. Use DVHS to capture a few programs. I have it set to record Young and the Restless(I know, but I've loved this show for 20 years, especially in HD). Now, I've built an MCE setup with an HD card. MCE has detected it in the more programs menu. I can even run the install up to the IR Blaster, which I don't have now. I control my HTPC via the Mplay Blast remote and VFD, which works great. OK, so now I see I need the IR Blasters to make this work. I have a tab open to Directron right now to order the MCE remote. From my understanding all this will do is record a second recording(or as the only recording in MCE). What else does it do? Will it fully integrate the STB into MCE? I mean, will it:

- Integrate my digital cable channels into the Guide, and allow me to change channel via the guide? or not?
- If it integrates, can I then watch my cable HD channels inside of MCE?

My question is, is the STB control worth it to buy the MCE Remote? [/COLOR] Further, what exactly is the advantage of using this. Why do I need a second recording of the same program?

My plan is to integrate all control with a Harmony 520. Can I totally take over the MCE remote with a Harmony and even use the IR Blasters with it?


I know these are dummy questions, but I have never seen the answer to this, nor have I seen screenshots confirming why I should even do this.
