My brother's looking for a cheap 50" recommendations?

He's looking in the lower $2k range. He won't do any gaming. A plus is that it will do cable SD decently. His two best friends have plasmas and I think he's leaning in that direction. I suggested the Panasonic TH-50PX60U. Anyone suggest something they think is better? TIA

good choice the 50px60u the 50px600u or the cmmercial 50 9uk, the pioneer 5070 but that is the high $2k range..
