Panasonic TH-42PX6U stuck on one channel.

Trying to work my new set. Love the picture quality, but the manual needs more how-to explanations. For example it lists how to add a favorite channel, which I did. After doing so it will not show anything except that one channel. I try to use the channel up and down and it will not go anywhere. So I figure it has locked me in to favorites only. How does one get out of favorites only? Nothing in the manual. So I try to delete the one favorite out of sheer frustration. The manual says to select it in favorites and hold down the favorites button to deselect it, just the opposite of adding. Makes sense but it doesn't actually work. So I'm stuck on one OTA channel. I'm a grown man with a decent tech know how, but I can't figure this out.

A rescan of all channels reset the set, but I'd like to use the favorites feature in the future.
Any tips would be appreciated.
