Hi,
I have wall mounted my 50" Panny. I want to get a credenza/tv stand to store about 6 A/V components (Receiver, Tape Deck, VCR, DVD player, CD player, Cable box and center channel).
My budget is $300 to $400.
Do you have any other ideas?
Thanks
Nick

The company that owns www.mountsandmore.com has a furniture site. You might want to check it out. I find the prices on stands to be outrageous. It really depends on your taste. Ikea has some in your price range, as does Target (neither of which will get you wood). You can also check sites like overstock.com, you might get lucky and find something you like. I also did some searching on ebay, where there are lots in your price range. I got my unit on a floor sale from Bloomingdales, but I really lucked out and got there an hour after they marked it down from $2,000 to $500 to move it.

Try:
http://www.storeyourmedia.com/58-in-plasma-tv-console-w-media-storage-cherry-finish.aspx
try this
http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?topcategoryId=17071&catalogId=10103&storeId=12&productId=76529&langId=-1&categoryId=15962&chosenPartNumber=00087531
Would this also hold a pioneer 5070 50inch plasma?

I work at CC and can tell you that in our store the most popular "wood-style" stand (as opposed to metal and glass) is the Tech Craft SWP60. You can pull it up at circuitcity.com. Not sure if it's what you're looking for but it would fit your budget. The center door with a mesh covering (similar to speaker grill material) has been popular because it allows people to hide their center channel in the cabinet.
One note about the pic on the website. In person the stand is actually not as matte finish looking as it appears in the pic (it's more of a satin or very mild gloss finish). It also has a very slight hint of red rather than just the straight brown it appears in the pic.

I have this TV console from Riverside Furniture.
I can't post URLs yet, but if you search Google for Riverside Furniture and go to their website and search for item number 52040 you'll see the console that I got this fall.
I have my 42 inch Panny plasma on it, but it is certainly wide enough to have the 50" set as well.
There is a good amount of room inside. I have 5 components and a power strip with the electrical cords inside the cabinets. The end compartments (with solid wood doors) are a nice addition for stuff you don't want to be seen.
I got mine at Raymour and Flanigan (a northeast/mid-atlantic furniture retailer) for between $400 and $500. It fit our decor and is nice painted wood.
I don't know if you have an R&F near you, but Riverside has dealers in other parts of the country as well.
It may be a bit beyond your budget, but Riverside also has other styles/price points that may work.
We've been pleased with Riverside's products and quality, we have 2 desks and a computer armoire from them in additon to this TV console.
