Onkyo TX-SR604 Hdmi Problems

I bought the Onkyo avr last week and am having problems with the hdmi pass through. I have an Oppo 970 hooked up via the avr and I get audio and video cut-outs every few minutes or so. If I hook up the oppo directly to the tv (50kdf-e2000), I get no issues. I have tested both cables and they seem fine.
Any ideas guys?

All is well again. I called Onkyo and they instructed me to replace the receiver with another one. Issue resolved.
