Ok, maybe this is a little cheesy, but I just had a thread of mine bumped from another HD Radio forum, because I mentioned that some HD Radios receive C-Quam AM Stereo! The reason? C-Quam isn't HD! But that's a feature of an HD Radio, just as alarm functionality is!

I asked, "shouldn't others be bumped for mentioning that the Accurian also has alarm functions"? No answer yet. I also wondered out loud if a reviewer discovered that an HDTV included onboard dvd playback, despite there being no mention of it in the literature, didn't it belong in the review, despite the fact that is't "not HD"? Of course, no answer. That would require logic. Fairness. An open mind. The kind displayed by the moderator of this forum!

I know there is bickering here, and I am (at least) as guiilty of it as anyone. But in a free society, ALL ideas should be welcome. Nobody should be left out. Dumb comments (i.e. those made by people who disagree with me. KIDDING!) may either be addressed, or ignored. Your choice. OUR choice. Thanks again moderator for giving us the choice.

HD Radio is new. It's controversial. Opinions, and rhetoric are occasionally (over)heated. Hopefully the outcome will be better radio service for all.

I also wanted to express my greatfulness to the moderators of this forum. To put it frankly, there aren't really any other HT forums on the internet worth joining. Why? Because the AVS Forum is a great place with TONS of (super helpful) people.

While I've only seen one situation where a mod stepped in (*cough* SaytoIBOC *cough*), I appreciate having mods who step in when necessary and do so with grace. This makes the whole board run smoothly.

There are some mods on other boards where the mods are real nazis who are extremely legalistic about deleting stuff that's even slightly off topic (but still relevant). I was really impressed about how you guys handled a certain someone. You gave him couple of warnings, and finally kicked him out.

In the heat of the moment, I probably would have banned him without a warning.

The AVS Forum PWNS!

Most of the threads on those forums are either about how HD Radio is going to be the standard for broadcasting in x years and get rid of that awful worthless analog broadcasting or how HD Radio will cause so much interference that it will make all forms of radio broadcasting impossible and destroy the industry. Ask a simple innocent technical question about HD Radio and you'll find yourself in the middle of some sort of civil war. I guess some people have to get pumped up about something.

I agree. It's been informative (and entertaining) to see other opinions about HD radio (and that goes for other threads as well). I have learned a thing or three also, like clarification of what Dx'ing is.

Happy New Year to everyone.

And the moderators have real full-time jobs there judging by the number of deleted posts I've seen.
