Brief signal loss with bright white flashes?

I have my XBox and XBox 360 connected to my LG plasma via a component switcher (uses component cables, up to 1080i signal), as a way to maximize the number of components I can attach to the monitor.

The XBOXes connect to the video switcher, and the switch box goes to my receiver (a Marantz), and then to the LG display.

When the games I play or movies I watch have a bright flash of light (ie, a big explosion, for example, or lightning flash), the screen briefly goes black and I see a "no signal" message on the screen.

Any idea how to remedy this? Could it be the quality of the component cable Im using in the switch box? It's very irritating.

Thanks...

Have you tried it without the switcher in place? Or have you checked your connections? The fact that it happens with lighting or exposions... it could be something is a bti lose & a big, low frequency hit causes a brief disconnect.
