Well with one storm after another, lack of power at times, and just downright lousy weather, I have decided to hold off building the main theater room until spring. The only problem is I can't handle not having a media room of some sort for that long.
After about 2 minutes of carefull consideration LOL, I decided to turn the smallest bedroom 12x11.5 into my theater/office. As it's just me living in the house I finally have no one to worry about with my excessive volume levels or late night movies.
I've only just begun so please be kind.
The thing that was the absolute most important to me was to keep things clean. I hate seeing wires and equipment laying all over the place. My last condo was a nightmare with so many wires along the walls that the dust became a pretty serious issue. Well no more condo. I can pretty much do anything I like in the new house, and that meant I could finally run wires in the walls, ceiling, etc.
As the room has a decent size closet, I began by wiring everything so that I could utilize it as the computer server area and also it would hold all of the stereo gear. While every guy I've met doesn't mind seeing all the equipment, I've yet to find me a gal that didn't find it annoying having it all out in the main room.
